Day 1 - Santiago de Chile

Both flights were on time and our checked in luggage arrived ok.  All our paperwork was in order but the queues to get through Santiago Airport were unbelievable and it was just over 3 hours between leaving the plane and getting out to meet the transfer staff. Most of this time was spent queuing for document checking,  PCR testing,  immigration and customs.  We then had to wait another hour for others to come through before we were taken to our hotel.

At the hotel we had another PCR test and were given instructions to go to our room and stay their until we received a negative result from the airport test.  We still hadn't received the result when we went to bed at 10.00 and we were served an evening meal in our room.

The hotel looks nice although we are not allowed to go exploring.  We have lovely views of the mountains which surround the city.

Breakfast is at 4.00 in the morning and our flight to Punta Arenas leaves at 8.00 so we should arrive around midday.

    1. Thanks Paul. It was a real struggle to get here. So many forms to complete along with proof of vaccines and no end of tests along the way. Was worth it though. xx
